Οι Rammstein δημιουργήθηκαν το 1994 στο Βερολίνο. Οι στίχοι των τραγουδιών τους, προκλητικοί, γεμάτοι λογοπαίγνια, είναι γραμμένοι στα γερμανικά, τη μητρική τους γλώσσα, τη γλώσσα που «ταιριάζει στη heavy metal μουσική...», όπως υποστηρίζει ο μπασίστας τους, Oliver Riedel.
